Rohit Chandra is Executive Vice President and Cleveland Clinic’s Chief Digital Officer. In this role, he oversees the Information Technology Division and leads digital innovation throughout Cleveland Clinic’s global health system. Dr. Chandra works to accelerate Cleveland Clinic’s digital transformations in areas including artificial intelligence, machine learning and big data to improve access to care and enhance the patient and caregiver experience.

Previously, Dr. Chandra was Vice President of Engineering at Sunshine Products, a technology startup in Palo Alto, California. In this role, he led the engineering team, leveraging sophisticated algorithms to solve a range of everyday problems and tasks, including the creation of Sunshine Contacts. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President of Search and Advertising at Verizon Media, where he was responsible for merging products and teams from Yahoo and AOL after their acquisitions by Verizon.

Dr. Chandra holds a bachelor’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India, as well as a doctorate in Computer Science from Stanford University.

Scott Oloff is an Executive Leader in Roche – pRED (Pharma Research & Early Development), where he has been based in Basel, Switzerland since early 2022. He joined Roche – pRED leading the Data & Analytics organisation to drive all data, analytics, & technology capabilities for the discovery of breakthrough medicines towards unmet patient needs. Prior to joining Roche, he led IT Research, Development, and Medicine Enablement with Boehringer Ingelheim which drove modeling, software platforms, and technology used across biological/chemical pharmaceuticals and animal health, including providing shared tools and data services to support manufacturing.  Scott began his career as a computational chemist working in drug project teams for both Boehringer Ingelheim and Biogen. Dr. Tamara Sunbul is a leading figure in healthcare innovation and digital transformation, serving as the Medical Director of Clinical Informatics at Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare and chairing the HIMSS Middle East Community Steering Committee. Sunil Dadlani is an accomplished global business technology leader who has spent his extensive career in this sector using his expertise to develop and implement complex, global information technology strategies and processes. 

He joined Atlantic Health System in September 2020 and oversees Information Technology systemwide. In this role, Mr. Dadlani continues to advance the system’s use of information technology strategies and platforms to help support the delivery of excellent patient care and team member experiences. One particular focus is the management and continued growth and development of the system’s electronic medical record, Epic.

Dr. Saleem is board certified in Ophthalmology and Clinical Informatics and has gained much experience while working in the healthcare industry. Her role has evolved into being part of thought leadership for health care systems on how to use IT to achieve health system strategic goals.

Dr. Ozanan R. Meireles serves as the inaugural Vice Chairman of Innovation at Duke University School of Medicine’s Department of Surgery and the Surgical Director of Duke AI Health. He further specialized in Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of California, San Diego. Joland Rutgers is Vice President and Health of Innovation Excellence at Philips. He has 30 years of experience at the company and was promoted to his current role in May 2023. Dr. Nicolas Löffler-Perez is a Data Scientist at Swissmedic, the Swiss Agency for therapeutic products. After obtaining his Ph.D at The Johns Hopkins University, he moved to Switzerland to work on Clinical Machine Leaning in the University Hospital of Zurich and the University of Zurich where he developed a multimodal model for comprehensive analysis of images and reports in the hospital as well as optimization algorithms among other projects. He currently works with the Swissmedic 4.0 Team as the technical lead in multiple AI-based applications including the search of illegal medicinal substances in e-commerce, medicament recognition from images, and document similarity. His work focuses in innovation and the implementation of new technologies within Swissmedic. These solutions are mostly oriented towards the improvement of processes at Swissmedic making the stakeholder’s engagement essential for the success of these innovative solutions.

Prof. Peter van Ooijen, MSc, PhD, CPHIMS is an informatician working in the field of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare. He is a full Professor in AI in Radiotherapy and Machine Learning Expert & coordinator of the machine learning lab of the Data Science Center in Health (DASH). Both positions are at the University Medical Center Groningen in Groningen, the Netherlands. He (co)authored over 190 PubMed enlisted papers and more than 25 book chapters. Ms. Vink is the Director of the Smart Health Tech Center (SHTC) of Erasmus MC.  SHTC focuses on the integration, development, testing and validation of technologies for health and healthcare. SHTC contributes to advancements in healthcare technology, enabling better patient outcomes and improving the overall healthcare landscape. In addition to her role at SHTC, Ms. Vink is also the Director of Research Development Office (RDO) of Erasmus MC. Before Ms. Vink joined Erasmus MC in 2016, she was Business Director of the UNESCO-IHE Water Institute in Delft. Before that, from 2007 onwards, she worked as Special Advisor & Program Manager EU / Government relations at the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). Felice Burn is a data science innovation expert in healthcare, medical doctor, clinical researcher and leader of an AI and Data Science CoE at Cantonal Hospital Aarau in Switzerland. Matt is currently a Senior Project Manager and the Digital Experience Lead for the New Campus Development of The Ottawa Hospital (TOH). Prior to this, he held regional and leadership positions in clinical operations for trauma and critical care. He also had the privilege to serve our Inuit population as a flight nurse in the Canadian Arctic.  

He is a critical care nurse with a master’s in healthcare quality from Queen’s University. He also earned a certificate on Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare from TH Chan School of Public Health at Harvard University. He prioritizes patient & staff experience as primary drivers to his work, committed to ensuring a clinical lens is prioritized early in the planning processes. He joined the TOH’s new campus planning team in January 2022. Shortly after, he joined the Canadian Standards Association to draft national standards for digital infrastructure and digital health technologies in healthcare facilities. 

Professor Noam Shomron is passionate about using basic science to advance better healthcare. Professor Shomron heads the Functional Genomic Team at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at Tel Aviv University after training at MIT. He leads a multidisciplinary team of scientists that develops computational methods for parsing big data in the bio-medical field using Artificial Intelligence (AI). Shomron applied for over 30 patents and published over 200 peer-reviewed publications on multiple genomic fields, including medicine, agriculture, and business. Shomron also leads the Tel Aviv University Innovation Lab (TILabs) Team on Digital Medicine. Sofia Couto da Rocha is a MD with long-standing experience in the field. John Marshall is Co-founder and CEO of Airia, an enterprise AI, full-stack platform.  Prior to Airia, John founded and built AirWatch to be the global leader in enterprise mobility management with over 20,000 customers and $250M in recurring revenue.  After VMware acquired AirWatch in 2014, John helped his former employees launch and scale OneTrust, an enterprise privacy platform with over 14,000 customers.

With nearly three decades in the tech industry, he leads the development of multimodal AI systems leveraging cutting-edge NLP, computer vision, and machine learning technologies. He has completed executive Business Strategy and Entrepreneurship programs at Cornell University and advanced AI and Machine Learning programs at MIT. As an accomplished private pilot, Bill brings a unique perspective to the intersection of AI, aviation, and mobile technologies.

As the Director of Customer Experience & Insights (CXI), Panos leads the newly created CXI division at Intelligencia AI. He focuses on unlocking value for the company’s partners through best-in-class thought partnerships and bespoke analytics that harness the company’s proprietary data.

He brings over a decade of experience in the life sciences industry, helping North American and European pharmaceutical and biotech companies develop products, therapeutic areas and portfolio strategies. Before joining Intelligencia AI, Panos was a Principal with Strategic Decisions Group, a management consulting firm focusing on decision-making. Before moving into strategy consulting and the health tech industry, he began his career in the energy sector. He is an engineer by training with a background in economics, finance and decision analysis.

Panos holds a master’s of sciences in management science and engineering from Stanford University, a master’s of sciences in energy production and management, as well as a master’s of engineering in electrical engineering and computer science from the National Technical University of Athens. He is a Fulbright Scholar.

Panos is also a business mentor who coaches technology startups in developing their business plans and serves on the Greek Alumni Association of Stanford University board. In his leisure time, he enjoys reading literature, participating in sports and spending time with friends.

Stephan, trained as a computer scientist and biomedical engineer, brings a wealth of experience to his role as an engineer and project lead. He operates at the intersection of human and computer vision, leaving a significant impact on various ophthalmology and optometry projects over the past 15 years. Currently, Stephan serves as a project lead at Helbling Technik, a globally-active Swiss contract engineering company. He strongly believes in holistic and risk-driven product development, and his unwavering commitment to creating effective solutions for real-world challenges drives his work.

Joseph Zabinski, PhD, MEM is VP, Head of Commercial Strategy & AI at OM1. He oversees design, implementation, and evolution of OM1’s commercial strategy, including prioritization, go-to-market planning, and alignment with emergent market needs. Dr. Zabinski also serves as subject matter expert and thought leader for OM1’s AI work, including applications of the PhenOM digital phenotyping platform with life science and healthcare provider partners. Prior to joining OM1, Dr. Zabinski was a consultant in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Products Practice at McKinsey & Co. He specialized in advising life science and healthcare clients on using AI and advanced analytics, including identification of unmet medical needs, portfolio optimization, and AI strategy. His academic research focused on applications of Bayesian network modeling methods to predicting and stratifying environmental human health risk. Dr. Zabinski holds a master’s degree in engineering management from Dartmouth College, and a doctorate with a focus in health analytics from the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Dr. Zabinski is a 2023 Healthcare Innovation 40 Under 40 Winner.

Rebecca completed all but one of the courses required of the PhD in pure mathematics at Yale University when unfortunately family illness necessitated an extended leave. This experience was a catalyst to Rebecca’s subsequent founding of the digital health therapeutics company Orange Therapeutics. Rebecca has been sponsored at a number of prestigious math conferences, including: “Automorphic Forms” at Institut Henri Poincaré; a summer at the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques in France; two months at the conference “Modular Forms” at the Isaac Newton Institute in Cambridge in the UK; and, more recently, “Around Functional Transcendence” at the Mathematics Institute, the University of Oxford. Prior to grad school Rebecca had worked for a software firm and had done the detail design and led the implementation of a ship inspection system for a foreign government. One of six female entrepreneurs interviewed for a Forbes article, Rebecca is the leader of, and the creative mind behind, Orange Therapeutics.

Chris Guyer is the Group Vice President for North America and Europe at RxPx.  Chris has over 25 years of experience servicing the healthcare industry from leading organizations such as Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, Epocrates, Phreesia, Paro AI, and Truveris.  Chris is a trusted senior advisor and leader to commercial teams across the industry and has helped these teams evaluate innovative strategies, platforms and approaches for the purpose of improving efficiency, productivity and quality.  Chris’s current purview includes leading commercial strategy and client relationships across the portfolio of partnerships that RxPx has in North America and Europe.

Lucas Scherdel is a neuroscientist, health tech executive, board advisor and published academic with a passion for health innovation and technology. Previously he led Switzerland’s leading health tech accelerator, DayOne, founding a seed fund and leading to investments in 50+ deep tech ventures. He also led Bayer Consumer Health’s R&D portfolio for local brands and external innovation as a Global Vice President. He has previously led the World Economic Forum’s Global Coalition for Value in Healthcare and its executive board which represents $350 billion of global market share and has advised multiple VC funds, startups, academic and public institutions such as the World Health Organization, UK’s NHS, UCL Business School and the European Institute for Innovation and Technology. Dr. Haider Raza is a Senior Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Essex. He holds a PhD from the University of Ulster, focusing on adaptive learning in EEG-based brain-computer interfaces. His research interests span machine learning, computer vision, and explainable AI, with a particular emphasis on healthcare applications. Dr Raza has held research positions at the University of Ulster and Swansea University Medical School before joining Essex in 2017. With over £3.3 million in research funding and 20+ peer-reviewed journal publications, his work significantly advances AI-driven diagnostic algorithms and decision-making processes in healthcare.

Roland Rott is President & CEO of GE HealthCare Ultrasound & Cardiology, a global leader that has defined ultrasound innovation for over 25 years. In this role, Roland is responsible for driving the growth and innovation of the ~$3 billion business with more than 3000 employees worldwide. In his tenure leading the Ultrasound & Cardiology segment he has presided over the acquisition of surgical visualization & guidance pioneer BK Medical, the company’s largest acquisition since 2017, the equity investment in at-home ultrasound start-up Pulsenmore and the acquisition of AI healthcare leader Caption Health. Since joining GE HealthCare, Roland has held senior roles Ultrasound IT and Women’s Health, and prior to his appointment as President & CEO of Ultrasound, served as General Manager of Women’s Health Ultrasound, where he grew the strategic business unit to become the market leader in obstetrics/gynecology worldwide. Before joining GE HealthCare, Roland was Managing Director, Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) and executive board member at Exact Software— a mid-cap public company headquartered in the Netherlands— leading four R&D teams and subsidiaries in 20 countries. Early in his career Roland was an entrepreneur who founded two successful software companies in Austria that were later acquired by strategic investors. Roland earned his post-secondary diploma (HTL) in Engineering with specialization in Information Technology & Business Administration from HTBLA Leonding in Austria, studied International Business Administration at Leopold-Franzens Universität Innsbruck, and has completed executive education programs at Stanford University, London Business School, and the University of California at Berkley. Mona is the Global Head of Medical AI at NVIDIA. She brings a unique perspective with her varied experience in clinical medicine, medical applications, and business. She is a board-certified cardiac surgeon and the previous Chief Medical Officer of a digital health company. She holds an MBA in Management Information Systems, and has worked on Wall Street. Her ultimate goal is the betterment of medicine through AI.

Elena Bonfiglioli is Microsoft’s Global Business Leader for Healthcare, Pharma and Life Sciences. She is in the DIA Advisory Council and Vice Chair of the DIGITALEUROPE Digital Health Executive Council. In this capacity she is responsible for industry strategy and commercial go-to-market, enabling co-innovation and strategic partnerships to accelerate transformation with cloud and AI.

Dr. Ozanan Meireles is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School and a Bariatric, Foregut, and Advanced Endoluminal Surgeon at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Dr. Meireles has been practicing surgery at MGH for more than 10 years, where he has been responsible for the introduction of new technologies and techniques. 

Dr Meireles graduated from the Sao Paulo State University School of Medicine in Brazil. He completed his surgical training at Michigan State University and his clinical fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery at the University of California San Diego. He spent his research fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital investigating augmented reality in surgery, robotic telemanipulation, and Natural Orifices Trans Endoluminal Surgery (NOTES).

He is the director of the Surgical Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Laboratory (SAIIL) at the Massachusetts General Hospital. At SAIIL, his research focus is on utilizing computer vision to investigate the intraoperative phase of care through real-time, automated surgical analysis and provide surgeons with additional data, with the goals of democratization of surgical knowledge, lowering costs, improving patient outcomes, and reduction of morbidity and mortality. 

He serves as the Chairman of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) Artificial Intelligence Task Force, where he has been leading several projects to research and build the foundation for the scalability and sustainability of Surgical AI.

Meet Aisha Rahim, a seasoned healthcare executive with over a decade of international leadership and board-level experience. She has a strong track record of developing clinical quality improvement processes, providing pharmaceutical solutions, and enhancing patient outcomes. Aisha’s focus on Tech equity and healthcare equity has placed her among the esteemed board members of the American Diabetes Association for the DC MD VA chapters. Plus, she’s a tech-savvy individual who has completed education in artificial intelligence at MIT and business process design improvement at MIT. Aisha is an accomplished communicator, expert trainer, and skilled leader, adept at building and strengthening relationships across functions to drive cohesive, strategic operations.

Aquil Harjivan is the R&D Head of Digital Health at Bayer CH. Aquil is a scientist by training and has been in the FMCG and the consumer healthcare industries for all his career across P&G, Unilever, GSK and now Bayer.

Passionate about people and technology, he’s spent his career across innovation and product roles understanding what drives human behaviour in healthcare and how science and technology can be leveraged to solve it. Since joining Bayer in 2021, Aquil has led the digital health strategy and is now leading the Precision Health business unit announced earlier this year to develop and deliver new products and services that expand the role of the Bayer brands across the healthcare journey.

Nicholas Kelley is the Director Data Science & A.I. Portfolio Strategy and Innovation in the central Novartis Data & AI organization, and has two main priorities.  First, to identify, prioritise, and launch key use-cases with the mission of delivering reusable AI capabilities for the scientific and medical core of the business.  Second, to better define the AI opportunities landscape and needed capabilities across the value chain.  Here the key focus is on continued improvement of our Novartis data science foundation through innovative partnerships and by leading the data science community and capability building initiatives.

Recent initiatives include seeding and driving AI solutions such as Generative Chemistry as part of the partnership with Microsoft Research, the first cross-Novartis Data Science challenge in collaboration with MIT, and launching the AI for Life Residency program.

Nick has a formal background in computational methodology with a Ph.D. in Biophysics from Stanford University, with career experience in computational biology, chem- and bioinformatics, and most recently in the application of A.I. and machine learning in health.  

Dr Sujoy Kar is the Chief Medical Information Officer and the Vice-President of Apollo Hospitals, previously Medical Director of Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, Kolkata. He is a Clinical Microbiologist by background with subsequent post graduations from Indian Statistical Institute and MIT Sloan School of Management. He is an Adjunct Faculty for Healthcare Analytics and Management at IIM Calcutta and IIT Kharagpur. His current and ongoing research interests are in the development and adoption of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare and Digital Health Platforms.

Katie Baca Motes’ expertise includes digital health, strategic partnerships, negotiation, clinical trial enrollment, decentralized clinical trial structure, remote patient/participant monitoring, patient motivations, incentive structure, and behavioral economics. She’s passionate about bringing communities together to tackle health challenges, improving representation in research, and decreasing health disparities.

She brings 14 years of experience running large-scale research programs. She’s known for bringing innovation to the field of clinical research; for example, bringing the practice of A/B testing to build the mSToPs study cohort, one of the first remote site-less clinical trials. As the Co-Investigator and Director (2016-2021) of The Participant Center component of the All of Us Research Program (administered by the National Institutes of Health), she led the teams who built out a national infrastructure that enables “anyone, anywhere” to enroll in the program and she led innovations in digital and community-level engagement and in participant retention practices. She’s partnered in pioneering efforts such as working on some of the first studies to utilize patient-mediated EHR capture via SMART on FHIR. In early 2020, she co-founded the Scripps Digital Trials Center and launched DETECT, a COVID-19 research platform using wearable data for early detection and understanding progression of disease, factors for Long COVID, and vaccine response. In 2021, she launched the PowerMom Consortium, focused on accelerating maternal health research and decreasing health disparities.

Professor Shafi Ahmed is a world renowned, multi award winning surgeon, teacher, futurist, innovator and entrepreneur. He is a 3x TEDx speaker and has delivered over 300 keynotes in 35 countries.

After studying  medicine at Kings College Hospital Medical School London, he completed his surgical training in London. He is currently a Laparoscopic Colorectal surgeon at The Royal London and St Bartholomew’s Hospitals.

He has received multiple Professorships and Honorary doctorates and was a Nobel Peace prize nominee in 2020 for his humanitarian work in conflict zones. In 2018 he was awarded the Future NHS award for NHS70 by Members of Parliament. In 2017 he was the top British Asian star in Tech. He was also the British Bangladeshi of the Year 2017

He is currently a member of the NHS Assembly advising on the NHS long term plan and has previously been an advisor to the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Health.  He is currently the Vodafone Connected Health 5G Ambassador for the UK and sits on the board of The Centre for Health, a joint venture with Vodafone and Deloitte. He sits on the board of advisors at Abilitii in Saudi Arabia building health for Vision 2030 and is a Non Exec Director at the Considered, a global health marketing agency.

As a previous Associate Dean at Barts Medical School, Shafi disrupting the traditional medical school curriculum by launching the Barts X Medicine Programme in 2015. Shafi has embedded future technologies and entrepreneurship into the medical school.

Dr. Darren Gates is a senior Registrar in Paediatric Intensive Care at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool, UK. In addition to his clinical practice he works as a Clinical Innovation Consultant in the Trust’s award winning Innovation Hub where he is clinical lead for the artificial intelligence workstream. This includes The Living Hospital project, a partnership with the Science and Technology Foundation Council’s (STFC) Hartree Centre and IBM, working to improve patient care and experience.

Susan Tillmann leads Data, Analytics and Digital for Global Manufacturing & Supply at Takeda Pharmaceuticals International AG. The digital and data executive with over 16 years’ experience in pharma, successfully leads the achievement of perceived previously unattainable goals leveraging Artificial Intelligence, Data, XR and Hyperautomation.

Alberto Tozzi is a distinguished pediatrician and epidemiologist renowned for his expertise in vaccines and his contributions to the surveillance and prevention of infectious diseases. With over 15 years of dedicated research at the Italian National Public Health Institute, he has focused extensively on developing effective vaccination strategies. Throughout his career, he has collaborated closely with esteemed organizations such as the World Health Organization and the European Centers for Disease Control in their joint efforts to combat infectious diseases worldwide. In 2004, Dr. Tozzi transitioned to the Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital, assuming key roles in the prevention of infectious diseases, telemedicine, and innovation in pediatrics. Currently, he serves as the Head of the Predictive and Preventive Medicine Research Unit, where his work revolves around pioneering projects that explore the integration of artificial intelligence into pediatric medicine and the advancement of related training initiatives. Notably, as a corresponding member of the Pontifical Academy for Life, Dr. Tozzi actively addresses the ethical implications of technological advancements in the field of pediatrics. His involvement in this institution showcases his commitment to the responsible and conscientious application of technology in healthcare. Additionally, Dr. Tozzi currently holds the position of President of the International Society for Pediatric Innovation, further demonstrating his leadership and dedication to fostering innovation and progress in pediatric healthcare on a global scale.

Elisabeth obtained her PhD in Process Engineering, Bioprocesses and Applied Mathematics from the University of Montpellier, France in 2004 with over six publications, followed by several recognition awards in data and process analytics used for process design, optimization, monitoring and control. 

Over 19 years of experience in Pharma Industry, the knowledge gained in various roles across development, quality, regulatory and manufacturing, combined with previous experience in academia , leading new technology design and implementation, developing quantitative and predictive AI algorithms to optimize processes and enable real-time analysis, evaluating new business development opportunities (asset, digital therapies, technologies) across all development stages, ensuring compliance using a quality by design, science and risk- based approach considering patient safety, allowed to gain a deep understanding of Pharmaceutical Industry with the ability to foster effective collaboration across divisions, functions and countries.

Clare Bornstein acts as advanced analytics platform lead for Global Manufacturing & Supply at Takeda Pharmaceuticals International AG. 

Peter is Head of Analytics, Data & AI at the Novartis Foundation, accelerating the use of data and analytics as part of the Foundation’s mission to improve population health and inequities. Before that, Peter co-founded Novartis AG’s transformational data42 program which enables the use of the company’s deep pre-clinical, clinical, and real world data to accelerate and improve drug R&D. Prior to his work at Novartis, Peter was Chief Data & Technology Officer at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington in Seattle. He managed the data for the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study and created IHME’s global public data catalog Global Health Data Exchange (GHDx) and innovative interactive data visualizations.

Matthias Pfister is Head of the Development Team at Helbling Technik, a worldwide active, independent Swiss contract engineering company. He has 15 years of professional experience in the development of innovative technologies and products for medical applications. Matthias Pfister has successfully managed the development of several medical devices, from ideation until FDA approval. He is currently heading a development team whose core competence is processing complex signals acquired with optical sensors and systems. Past experiences include various projects in ophthalmology, endoscopy, and dermatology. Independent of the application, Matthias Pfister has a strong focus on a holistic development approach along the signal chain, i.e., from photon generation to digital signal processing. Furthermore, he considers strong systems engineering and project management to be key success factors for development.

Johannes Boch began his professional career as psychologist, working in different research and mental health facilities across Europe. Subsequently he expanded his experiences working with consulting, research and business development for impact investors and entrepreneurs, with a focus on access to healthcare in LATAM. He holds degrees in Psychology from the University of Fribourg (CH), International Affairs and Finance.

At the moment, Johannes is serving his team as the Director of Population Health at the Novartis Foundation. In this capacity he oversees global programs and partnerships in cardiovascular population health and health equity which have benefitted up to 17 million people over the last years and shaped health systems to become more efficient and sustainable.

Gaurica Chacko is a proven industry leader with more than 20 years of experience in management consulting and life sciences, primarily focusing on business and digital transformation, cloud development, health equity, and clinical and commercial strategy. Gaurica works at the intersection of business and technology and specializes in connecting with clients and partners to find innovative solutions to complex business problems.

Prior to joining Wipro, Gaurica was Managing Director at FTI Consulting focusing on health solutions across the healthcare continuum. Previously she was the Regional GM, Global Markets at Quest Diagnostics and prior to that she served as a senior executive at Edwards Lifesciences leading several Global functions including Compliance and Legal Operations, Business Excellence and Clinical Affairs.

Gaurica spent more than a decade in management consulting working for Deloitte and KPMG where she led highprofile strategic engagements in R&D optimization, operational excellence, sales and marketing strategies and M&A due diligence for life science clients.

Gaurica has a passion for bringing innovative therapies and diagnostics to underserved patient populations. She is a champion for Health Equity and an executive member of the WEF-Edison Alliance.

Sofia Martinez is the ad-interim Director of Product Engineering Security at Roche Diagnostics. Her team supports the implementation of cybersecurity and privacy principles across all stages of the product life cycle to a variety of medical devices and digital solutions used in the healthcare sector.

She has experience in developing and establishing product cybersecurity and privacy strategies and she led the re-design of Roche Diagnostics operating model to deliver product cybersecurity and privacy and allow for agility and innovation.

In addition to that, she’s responsible for monitoring the ever-changing regulatory landscape and consolidating new cybersecurity and privacy requirements with the aim of ensuring compliance and continuously improving the security maturity of the company by evolving cybersecurity strategies.

Sofia is currently an active member of the Geneva Dialogue representing the medical device industry. She contributes with her expertise to address the cyber norms and challenges related to reducing vulnerabilities in cyberspace.

As Senior Director of the Digital Ecosystem, Jan’s role is to drive GE HealthCare Digital EMEA’s Ecosystem Strategy and together with his team develop cooperation with partner companies, indirect channels, start-up centers and networks. Jan is the head of GE Healthcare’s Edison Accelerator. With over 15 years of experience in healthcare informatics, the medical imaging domain and management, Jan is a seasoned leader with vast experience in leading strategic initiatives and in fluencing strategic decisions that ultimately drive revenue and contribute to enterprise value.

Prior to joining GE HealthCare, Jan has held consultancy roles in Digital Health start-ups and radiology IT companies. Prior to his Digital Ecosystem responsibility at GE HealthCare, he has been responsible for leading clinical consultancy at GE HealthCare Digital in Europe, Middle East & Africa where he and his team ensured and optimized the quality of clinical solution architecture, clinical work flow consultancy, change management and user adoption.

He brings a real passion for the digital transformation of healthcare, understanding healthcare provider needs, improving healthcare work flows and user experience.

Jan lives outside of Leipzig, Germany, with his wife and their two daughters and founded www.gr4ai.academy, a non-profit to create awareness and educate children around Artificial Intelligence.

Francine has a 25+ year career in leadership roles within both the public and private Healthcare sector, driving efficiencies across all operations and spearheading innovation through new technology.  She is experienced working both in house and as a consultant managing large cross functional teams, accomplished at delivering hospital activation and green field capital projects, improving clinical processes, patient outcomes, compliance, quality & safety, medicines optimization and developing clinical services.  With an international background, she has worked in British, American, Dutch and UAE health care systems and is a Doctor of Pharmacy.

Francine is ambitious and entrepreneurial whilst remaining hands-on to drive results through people.

Most recently, Francine has led on Cleveland Clinic London’s hospital wide operational activation as well as the implementation of a revolutionary fully automated Closed Loop Medicines Optimisation model, the first in the UK, now fully operational within budget and timescale. She was awarded both the Cleveland Clinic CEO team award and Team Innovation award for the successful activation of Cleveland Clinic London. Additionally, her team was nominated for the 2022 Laing Buisson Innovation award for the implementation of Cleveland Clinic London’s unique closed loop medicines management system. She oversaw the hospital’s Epic Medicines Management application, regarded the most successful international implementation of its kind.

Prior to this, as an independent consultant, she led 5 independent hospitals to achieve outstanding CQC ratings and transformed underperforming clinical and operations teams. In this role, she worked with Executive Teams of around 20 hospitals on organizational analyses and improvement strategies to drive inspection success.

She is a former Chief Pharmacist at HCA Healthcare’s Wellington Hospital, having come from Lead Clinical Pharmacy roles at the Cromwell Hospital, leading NHS Trusts and University Hospitals in The Netherlands. She has particular clinical interest in Critical Care and Pediatrics. Francine has served on several boards of Healthcare Organizations.

She holds an Honorary Associate Professorship at The University of Leicester and completed her PharmD and MSc in Clinical Pharmacology at Utrecht & Maastricht University in The Netherlands. In addition, she is an associate advisor at Deloitte, completed a Certificate in Business Administration at Warwick Business School and a Digital Transformation Leadership module at Harvard Medical School.

Francine is married with an 18 year old son and 12 year old daughter. She is a keen traveler, played tennis in the Dutch National League and performs regularly as a flute player.

Francine has a particular interest in voluntary work in Education and served as a Chair of Governors at a school in Surrey. In addition, she was a volunteer Covid vaccinator, having vaccinated 1,200 people at her local Primary Care Network.

Jiangtao Wang is an internationally recognized researcher of AI for Health at Coventry University. His expertise lies in developing novel AI algorithms to analyze complex healthcare data, aiming to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and accessibility of healthcare delivery. Dr. Wang has made significant contributions to the field, creating cutting-edge machine learning models that tackle various health challenges. These include population health monitoring, diagnosis prediction, drug-drug interaction analysis, and COVID severity estimation. Notably, his models have consistently outperformed state-of-the-art methods on real-world clinical datasets, such as the MIMIC-III Database and NHS datasets. Dr. Echeverri is a medical doctor with +18 years working experience, combined clinical, disasters’

and public health expertise in complex humanitarian emergencies, protracted crises, and outbreaks

of infectious diseases. She has a keen interest and experience in migration/displaced population health- related operations, programs, and policy.

Dr. Echeverri has worked with various international, governmental, and non-governmental organizations covering a variety of field and executive roles, leading cross-functional teams, health strategy, negotiating access and operational space for health programs, humanitarian responses, projects in development, implementation, and evaluation, with a particular focus on preparedness, readiness,and response. and proposal development, monitoring and evaluation of projects, and fostering relationships and

Dr. Echeverri holds a Master in Disaster Medicine (EMDM) and is as faculty member of the

European Master in Disaster Medicine (EMDM) where she has been supporting the development,

design, and improvement of the complex humanitarian emergencies module of which she is a

senior lecturer for Migration and Health, in addition to playing a role as thesis supervisor. She is

currently a PhD candidate in Global Health, Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Medicine at the

Università del Piemonte Orientale in Novara-Italy, and a Research fellow at CRIMEDIM.

Katrin Crameri is a group leader at SIB and heads the Data Coordination Centre of the Swiss Personalized Health Network (SPHN) – a federal research infrastructure initiative for the efficient and responsible use of health data. She is also chair of the BioMedIT Board, which is responsible for the development and operation of the Swiss Trusted Research Environment. Katrin is a member of various national and international committees in the field of data-driven medicine and is strongly committed to advance better research for better health and to successfully maintaining Switzerland as a high-performing biomedical research location.

Brenna Loufek is the SaMD Regulatory Affairs Manager in the Center for Digital Health – Data & Analytics at Mayo Clinic. Brenna collaborates with user-innovators to create regulatory strategies that offer the least burdensome pathway to market for digital health technologies developed at Mayo Clinic. Her subject matter expertise is in the nuanced application of US FDA regulatory policies for AI/ML-enabled software functionalities.

Brenna brings extensive experience guiding teams through domestic and international regulations and standards. With previous roles at Medtronic and Philips, Brenna has managed complex regulatory submissions and advised on studies for digital health products including AI/ML-based technologies, telehealth platforms, and in-clinic management tools. In addition to program support, Brenna has served as a cross-departmental liaison to provide training for and interpretation of FDA’s current positioning on digital health products.

Brenna has a master’s degree in Patient Safety & Healthcare Quality from Johns Hopkins. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Evidence-Based Healthcare from the University of Oxford with a research focus on the efficacy of regulatory and ethical frameworks within healthcare institutions to manage AI/ML-enabled clinical decision support software.

Felice Burn is a data science innovation expert in healthcare, medical doctor, clinical researcher and leader of an AI and Data Science CoE at Cantonal Hospital Aarau in Switzerland. With more than 20 years healthcare experience and more than 12 years’ experience in development and integration of artificial intelligence in healthcare. Helge Buess joined the Novartis Foundation in September 2022 as Associate Director Population Health. He coordinates urban population health initiatives that leverage the power of data and advanced analytics to decipher the true drivers of cardiovascular health and equity.

After roles in Sales and Marketing at Astellas Pharma AG, Helge joined the Oncology Business Unit of Novartis Switzerland in 2018 as Disease Area Manager. In this position, he was responsible for maximizing the commercial growth of products in the local hematology portfolio.

In 2021, Helge was appointed Strategic Assistant to the Swiss Country Head, supporting and driving strategic projects in Novartis’ Pharma Business Unit such as the development of the Country Organisation’s strategic roadmap as well as the design and implementation of transformation projects.

The main research interests of Professor Somaya Ben Allouch involve development, use and evaluation of digital technologies, such as robotics and AI. She obtained her PhD at the University of Twente (the Netherlands) and has been a visiting researcher at the Ambient Intelligence Research Lab of Stanford University. 

Since 2021, she has combined the endowed professorship of Human-System Interaction for Health and Wellbeing at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, with heading the Digital Life research team at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. 

She has published several articles in scientific journals, including International Journal of Mobile Human Computer Interaction, Journal of Human-Computer Interaction and Journal of Medical Internet Research, and has been guest editor of the scientific journals International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks and International Journal of Social Robotics. She is a member of the editorial board of Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Smart Environments. Furthermore, she is involved in several (inter)national third party funded research projects and supervises several PhD projects.

Veysel is a Senior Data Scientist and Healthcare NLP Lead at John Snow Labs, improving the Spark NLP for the Healthcare library and delivering hands-on projects in Healthcare and Life Science. 

He is a seasoned data scientist with a strong background in every aspect of data science including machine learning, artificial intelligence, and big data with over ten years of experience. He’s also pursuing his Ph.D. in ML at Leiden University, Netherlands, and delivers graduate-level lectures in ML and Distributed Data Processing. He is also working towards his PhD in Computer Science and is a Google Developer Expert in Machine Learning.

Antonio Russo leads Deloitte’s Analytics & Cognitive Advisory in Switzerland and is responsible for Innovation within Deloitte Switzerland’s Executive team. His team helps clients leverage the power of artificial intelligence and data to deliver more customer-centric and innovative products and services that catalyse growth and efficiencies.

He has over 20 years of experience in advising companies in large-scale global transformations, leveraging new delivery models (GBS/SSC, outsourcing) and innovative technologies (e.g. robotics, machine learning, natural language processing/generation). He helps global organisations review and implement new strategies for business support functions and deploy more effective and efficient services and governance models. Prior to joining Deloitte in April 2013, he held various sales and consulting leadership positions across Europe and was CEO of a start-up company developing brand protection technologies.

Maxine leads the Diverse Data initiative at Genomics England, which aims to reduce health inequalities in genomic medicine by ensuring patients, regardless of their background, receive the same quality of genomics-enabled personalised medicine, supported by the latest research on people like them. Maxine is also the co-founder of One HealthTech – a global, volunteer-led, grassroots community that supports and promotes under-represented groups in health innovation. She also set up Data Science for Health Equity, a community of practice that brings together those with expertise in data science and health inequalities to connect and collaborate on cutting-edge domains in health. She has been part of a number of communities and committees including being a Non-Executive Director for the Eastern Academic Health Science Network, a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers, and the British Computer Society (Health Exec) and the DeepMind Health Independent Review Board.

Bethel Dereje is a Gynecologic Oncologist and an assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College. Dr. Bethel is also the Founder and CEO of Wecare Digital Health which managed to take the largest market share of Digital Health service in Ethiopia. 

She has served as a lecturer, undergraduate program coordinator and as an assistant Dean of St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College. She was one of the female physicians to realize Ethiopian Medical Women Association (EMeWA) and served as Executive board member for the first year. She is also an active member of Ethiopian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ESOG) and Ethiopian Medical Association (EMA).

Apart from her professional activities she delivers her social responsibilities in teaching high school students, leading outreach programs for orphanages and as a board member of Addis Ababa city administration school feeding program.

Nicole Spieker is a healthcare professional with 17 years on the ground experience in Africa. A scientist by training, she has focused her career on developing and scaling innovative models for change that drive inclusive quality healthcare, especially for vulnerable groups.

She is the CEO of PharmAccess, an international not-for-profit organization dedicated to strengthening health systems in sub-Saharan Africa. PharmAccess’ mission is to create access to affordable, quality healthcare for low-income groups. This is achieved through the introduction of standards, the creation of health insurance systems, and provision of affordable loans to private clinics. Mobile and digital technology are considered key transformational elements in achieving UHC. At the core is the M-TIBA mobile health wallet, which connects patients, payers and providers. M-TIBA creates new digital solidarity mechanisms where people start paying for each other, and efficiently channels funding to target groups at very low transaction costs.

Dr Spieker is also the founder of SafeCare, an internationally accredited (ISQua) standards-based methodology that healthcare facilities use to improve their quality-of-care. SafeCare has been adopted by public and private partners in over 15 African countries.

Previously, Dr Spieker was Director of clinical support services at the Aga Khan Health Services, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and assistant professor at Aga Khan University. She holds a PhD in Molecular Genetics of the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Pau Rue is an accomplished data and AI/maching learning leader with a track-record of building impactful ML and Data Science and AI solutions in different industries. He currently services as the VP of AI for Infermedica, a Poland-based digital health company specializing in AI-powered solutions for preliminary diagnosis and patient triage. After having earned a PhD in Computational Physics and a short career in Academia (University of Cambridge), Rue transitioned to the industry, first as a Staff Data Scientist (Schibsted/Adevinta), then as a Data and ML team leader (Telefonica Alpha Health) and executive (Typeform), before joining Infermedica.

Hanno Ronte is a Partner at Monitor Deloitte, in Deloitte UK’s strategy consultancy business. He has more than 20 years of consulting experience primarily in the Healthcare and Life Sciences sector. Hanno leads the Life Sciences and Healthcare team in Monitor Deloitte and is responsible for building the Real World Evidence Capability within that. Matt Arentz is a pulmonary physician and data scientist with 15 years of expertise in TB diagnosis and treatment, including 10 years of tuberculosis research in East Africa and 5 years working on global disease burdens and health technology. He spent 10 years in academic medicine at the University of Washington and its affiliates while conducting clinical research on tuberculosis in East Africa and mycobacterial research in the United States. Doctor Arentz also has expertise in data science and has an MPH in global health metrics from the University of Washington. While working with the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation, he modelled the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on TB global case finding.  Additionally, Dr. Arentz worked as a visiting scientist at Microsoft from 2020 to 2021 where he helped develop their global health access program.  Beginning in 2021 Dr. Arentz joined FIND as a senior technical consultant. Matt leads FIND’s validation platform, which focuses on evaluation of AI based diagnostics.

Reto Häni is a Cyber Risk Services Partner at Deloitte Switzerland. Andrea is an electronic engineer (BSc) and biomedical engineer (MSc) with a PhD from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) for his research activity in Neurotechnology for Brain-Repair and Brain-Computer Interfaces. He is the CEO of confinis ag, a Swiss regulatory consulting firm specialized in regulated innovation. In the past, he designed and managed randomized controlled trials and authored several scientific publications and few patents related to AI and machine learning in healthcare. Andrea has in-depth knowledge in Biostatistics, Machine Learning, Signal Processing, and Data Analysis. He created two neurotech companies, Intento SA and braincredible SA. Intento was acquired in 2018 by mindmaze group; braincredible – a spinoff of ANT Neuro – currently sells solutions to collect big EEG data. Andrea holds an honorary appointment as President of the Basel Chapter of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Switzerland (CCIS).

Over the past two decades, I have had the privilege to work with the largest organizations in the life-science industry, including Novartis, Philips Medical, Novo Nordisk, Leo Pharma, and some of the biggest consulting-firms in the world.

During this time, I noticed that most established organisations use large and expensive solutions and consultants for operations and projects. Dr William Mapham founded Vula to connect health worker professionals. His first-hand experience as the Vice-Chair of the Rural Doctors Association and as a specialist ophthalmologist helped form the solution. He has published academic articles on the role of innovation and technology in improving healthcare delivery. To date, Vula has 32,776 registered health workers on the platform and 1,359,398 patients have benefitted to date. William believes that partnerships are the key to delivering healthcare. Vula has partnerships with academic institutions, public sector departments of health and pharmaceutical companies.

Sami Chagar is a dedicated entrepreneur with a passion for transforming medical education. As a co-founder of Docthus, he envisions a world where medical professionals across Africa can access cutting-edge knowledge and techniques effortlessly. With a background in IT, Sami recognized the pressing need for a comprehensive platform that connects doctors, provides live surgeries, and facilitates expert collaboration. Docthus, under Samil’s leadership, has emerged as a pioneering solution that bridges the gap in medical learning by offering real-time access to surgical procedures, interactive webinars, and expert guidance. Dr. Robert Korom is a board-certified internal medicine physician. Dr. Korom earned his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City, USA, and completed his medical training at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, where he was a clinical fellow at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Korom has published several peer-reviewed studies of Penda’s work in clinical quality improvement. He works closely with Penda’s digital health and technology teams to improve clinical decision making and enhance patient experience.

Conrad Tankou is a medical doctor from Cameroon, a technology enthusiast who passionately believes that most of the health challenges in Africa can be solved through technology solutions which are adapted to the African context. He founded GIC Space, a health tech venture which designs and promotes cutting edge and cost-effective solutions for health challenges in Sub-Saharan Africa. Its flagship product is called GICMED, which targets breast and cervical cancers through a panoply of proprietary health tech solutions, with several recognitions received so far for its achievements. With his experience so far in technology, medical practice, and entrepreneurship, he hopes to be a pillar in ensuring that even the most remote communities in Africa enjoy standard and affordable healthcare.

Dr. Joseph Olowe, CEO, has over 30 years in allied health and business. He has built and sold many businesses and has been in the wellness industry for more than 20 years. Joseph leads our product development and execution. He can rightly be described as an epitome of virtue, with great accomplishment in business. He’s a graduate of the University of Lagos (BSc) in Physical Therapy, Rocky Mountain of Health Professional (MSc in Health Sciences and Doctorate in Physical Therapy), and University of Phoenix (MBA), currently the CEO of Omega Health Systems and sits on many boards. Joseph has exited two startups with resounding successes and loves to do charity work (he is currently the Volunteer CEO of His Dominion Christian Organization). He’s currently the only provider of a hi-tech health and wellness platform driving preventive care in Nigeria and is looking forward to growing into other Sub-Sahara African communities.

Elizabeth is an avid entrepreneur with a pharmacy and business education background who has over 17 years’ experience building businesses in the UK and Africa.  She successfully set up and grew her own brand pharmaceutical wholesale business from one to seven Sub-Saharan African countries with several high quality ethical and OTC products in various markets before exiting in 2016 to launch Wazima Health.  She is passionate about health and improving the access to and delivery of quality healthcare services. Her work in the healthcare space includes various projects in the UK’s NHS and with the UN and WHO in Sub-Saharan Africa. As a speaker, she regularly shares her expertise on various health and technology related platforms globally including Europe, Africa and UAE.

Dr. Jerome Nshimiyimana is the Founder and CEO of Jo Grp Ltd, the driving force behind the innovative healthtech platform JoCare. As a medical doctor working under the Ministry of Health, his journey in healthcare has been fueled by a deep commitment to improving lives.

During his time studying medicine at the University of Rwanda, Jerome realized the urgent need for accessible and accurate health information across various areas. This led him to create JoCare, a platform that provides evidence-based information and services, not only in sexual and reproductive health but also in telemedicine, non-communicable disease prevention, and inclusion of people with disabilities.

From its inception, JoCare has grown beyond his expectations, impacting thousands of lives and even conducting crucial research. Fabian Scheugenpflug is a trained medical physicist and leads the venture’s activities for Plug and Play Health EMEA. He has been the first team member of Plug and Play’s joint Venture with Roche Diagnostics – Startup Creasphere, a digital health innovation framework.

As part of his role, Fabian works with a multitude of Fortune 500 companies on specific projects ranging from enhanced POC capabilities to improving access to healthcare in the global south. Since the inception of Startup Creasphere Fabian has been leading more than 90 pilots. Additionally, he played a vital role in the expansion of Startup Creasphere to Asia and America. Besides his corporate engagement, Fabian has executed investments into 12 early-stage digital health startups which truly transform the perception of future healthcare. Some of his prominent portfolio firms include TestCard, Hyfe and Dyad.

Luca Emili is an entrepreneur and investor, Founder and current CEO of InSilicoTrials Technologies, a pioneering platform that leverages modeling and simulation to accelerate innovation in healthcare and life sciences.

From 2001 to 2010 he was CEO of Emaze, a cybersecurity company that became one of the market leaders in Italy by automating security analysis for complex networks and devices. He is member of the Cloud Security Consultative Group in EMA and is responsible for the RCA Research Collaboration Agreement between InSilicoTrials and the FDA. He also co-chairs the Good Simulation Practice Task Force within the Avicenna Alliance’s Policy Development Working Group, with the goal of driving a consensus approach toward standardization for reliable development and use of in silico solutions.

Vasileios is Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Aisthesis Medical. His background is on Electrical and Computer Engineering with a major in Biomedical Engineering. Currently he completes his PhD at ETH and University of Zurich where he performs research on Computational Neuroscience. One of his biggest achievements was that he was selected in the Forbes 30 under 30 in 2022 thanks to the contributions of Aisthesis Medical in the healthcare sector. His industrial experience involves working at big corporates and research institutes including IBM and CERN. Driven by his passion for innovation he envisions revolutionizing the healthcare sector by introducing Aisthesis Medical into the wide market of predictive analytics for clinical decision support.

Janis is Chief Medical Officer at AICURA medical. Prior to joining AICURA, he pursued his PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences, where he specialized in brain imaging and examined the effects of stress on brain plasticity. Simultaneously, he gained practical experience as a part-time psychiatric physician. Recognizing the substantial gap between cutting-edge, data-driven research and the outdated technology commonly found in clinical settings, Janis was inspired to transition to AICURA to work on using data science and AI to enhance clinical research and healthcare delivery.

Mayoro Diagne is a 43-year-old accomplished Software Engineer living in Dakar, with 17 years of experience in the tech industry. A proud graduate of Ecole Superieure Polytechnique de Dakar (ESP), he has a passion for martial arts, innovation, and AI. Throughout his career, Mayoro has held numerous responsible positions in both public and private sectors, ranging from small to large companies.

Currently serving as the COO of Baamtu Technologies, Mayoro brings his extensive knowledge and skills in engineering and IT to every project he oversees. As the former Technical Director at Makeba, a fintech company, he designed and implemented a mobile money platform. During his tenure at ADIE, the Senegalese IT Agency, Mayoro held various positions and made significant contributions to numerous e-government initiatives. Christoffer Ekström is one of the founders of AI Medical Technology and is the company’s CEO and one of the board members. He is a serial entrepreneur and holds a Master’s degree in immersive technologies (M.Sc.) from Stockholm University and finalising a bachelor’s degree in business administration (BBA) at Uppsala University. Christoffer is an experienced climber and adventurer.

Dario has a PhD in Neuroscience from the International School of Advanced Studies in Trieste, Italy.  He has over 15 years of experience in pre-clinical and clinical research in academic and private organizations in Italy, France, and the United States. He dedicated the last 7 years of his life to digital health and digital medical devices, focusing on supporting product teams in delivering effective, beneficial, and impactful digital solutions to patients and care teams worldwide. First by leading a team of Software Developers and Data Scientists at Vistronix (US) and for the past 5 years at Roche where he focused on Clinical Evidence and Clinical/Performance Evaluation. His experience, though, spans all aspects of digital health solutions: Over the years, he participated in and led the development and validation of a diverse range of regulated digital products including Digital Endpoints, Digital Therapeutics (DTx), Remote Patients Monitoring solutions (RPMs), Clinical Decision Support tools and algorithms.

Carl Leitner, Ph.D.  is a Technical Officer with the World Health Organization, Geneva. He is the former Technical Director of Digital Square at PATH and Associate Director of Health Workforce Informatics at IntraHealth. Carl Leitner brings more than twenty years of experience in informatics, information technology, software development, and education including more than fourteen years of designing and adapting health information systems in low- and middle-income countries.   Leitner has worked closely, in a variety of roles, with many digital health global goods. Leitner also regularly engages with health informatics standards development organization and has co-authored several health informatics standards. Leitner has led numerous workshops working with in-country teams to build their capacity to implement and manage interoperable health information systems and to make use of data for effective decisions and policymaking.

Nicholas Kelley is the Director Data Science & A.I. Portfolio Strategy and Innovation in the central Novartis Data & AI organization, and has two main priorities.  First, to identify, prioritise, and launch key use-cases with the mission of delivering reusable AI capabilities for the scientific and medical core of the business.  Second, to better define the AI opportunities landscape and needed capabilities across the value chain.  Here the key focus is on continued improvement of our Novartis data science foundation through innovative partnerships and by leading the data science community and capability building initiatives.

Recent initiatives include seeding and driving AI solutions such as Generative Chemistry as part of the partnership with Microsoft Research, the first cross-Novartis Data Science challenge in collaboration with MIT, and launching the AI for Life Residency program.

Nick has a formal background in computational methodology with a Ph.D. in Biophysics from Stanford University, with career experience in computational biology, chem- and bioinformatics, and most recently in the application of A.I. and machine learning in health.  

Since 2014, Dr. iur., LLM, Lukas Engelberger is a member of the Government of the Canton Basel-Stadt and Head of the Public Health Department. 

He is also President of the Swiss Conference of the Cantonal Ministers of Public Health (GDK) and Member of the Board of Swissmedic (Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products). He also is Member of the Board of Cantosana AG.

After his studies in law at the universities of Basel, Fribourg and Bern, he obtained the bar examination (Canton of Basel-Stadt) in 2001. In 2003 he doctorate in law at the university of Basel and holds a LLM (University College London). 

From 2003-2005 he was practising as an atorney at Bär & Karrer in Zürich (Practice areas: M&A, capital markets, general corporate and commercial matters). From 2005- 2014 Mr. Engelberger was a legal counsel at F.Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. in Basel.

Elena Bonfiglioli is Microsoft’s Global Business Leader for Healthcare and Strategy Lead for Pharma Life Sciences. 

In this capacity she is responsible for industry pharma strategy and commercial go-to-market, enabling co-innovation and engagement with strategic customers and partners to accelerate their transformation with cloud and AI.  

She was recently elected as Vice Chair of the DIGITALEUROPE Executive Council for Healthcare. 

A signature outcome of her work – together with a core team across engineering and research – was the design and launch of the AI partnership with Novartis in 2019 and the AI for Leprosy initiative with Novartis Foundation and Fiocruz, recently published in The Lancet/Elsevier.  

Elena co-chaired the Health Cloud Council for Microsoft and partners from 2015-2019 where she led the development of a position on secondary use of health data and championed the work on data collaboratives, leading to the creation of the first global data collaborative in cardiovascular population health.

Elena has been working in the health sector for 18+ years, first in health policy at EU level and then as regional business leader in public healthcare across EMEA. In July 2017, Elena was elected to the HIMSS Europe Governing Council.  In 2020 she was nominated one of the top 50 AI Innovators by Intelligent Health.  Elena is one of the founding members of the Holomedicine Association.

She is an active advocate and public speaker, invited to represent the approach of Microsoft for Healthcare and AI and how Data save Lives.  She is also a champion for the transformational impact of meditation in personal and professional development, working with the Centre for Evolutionary Learning; and the empowerment of women in leadership.

Dr. Yaron Ilan is the Director of the Department of Medicine at the Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical Center. Dr. Ilan served as the Vice Dean of the Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical School. Dr. Ilan was a Visiting Professor at Harvard University, working on novel immunotherapies. Dr. Ilan’s main areas of research are developing artificial intelligence-based algorithms for improving care, developing immunomodulatory therapies for fatty liver disease, diabetes, and inflammatory bowel diseases, and developing drugs for primary liver cancer. Dr. Ilan holds over 50 patents for discoveries based on his innovative research and has authored more than 300 articles. He is the inventor of several drugs and medical devices developed by several pharmaceutical companies. Several of his innovations have already reached the clinical market. Dr. Ilan is the founder of several companies and is a medical director and advisor for several biotech companies.

A board-certified internist, Daniel Knecht, M.D., currently serves as Vice President, Chief Clinical Innovation Officer, CVS Caremark. Dr. Knecht’s focus is on helping clients better understand the evolving clinical landscape of specialty medications, develop strategies for better patient care and outcomes, and manage costs. 

Prior to this role, as Vice President, Clinical Product, Dr. Knecht was responsible for clinical product ideation, concept development and testing, optimization, launch, performance, and measurement in collaboration with key stakeholders across the enterprise.

Dr. Knecht is a Fulbright scholar and graduated with honors from Dartmouth College. He also has a joint M.D., M.B.A., from Weill Cornell Medical College and Johnson Graduate School of Management where he was a recipient of the Lee Family Scholarship. He is an associate clinical professor at Mount Sinai West in New York City where he still sees patients, and a member of the Board of the Foundation of CUNY School of Public Health.

Dr Stefan Germann is the CEO of Fondation Botnar, a Swiss-based foundation which champions the use of AI and digital technology to improve the wellbeing of young people in urban environments. To achieve this, the foundation supports research, catalyses diverse partners, and invests in scalable solutions around the world.

Dr Germann has spent over 25 years working in various leadership roles in Africa and Asia, focusing on health-related development for children, relief and advocacy work. He was previously the Senior Director of World Vision’s International Sustainable Health Partnership, Innovation and Accountability unit based in Malaysia. His work focused on a complex relief and reconstruction program in response to the Asian Tsunami. 

He has previously held several board and advisory board memberships. These include for the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (PMNCH), UBS Optimus Foundation, REPSSI in Africa, the Global Health Program and The Graduate Institute in Geneva, where he focused on the role of NGOs in global health diplomacy.

Dr Imran Siddiqui studied in London and trained in clinical radiology in the NHS, prior to joining Bayer, where he now leads the Radiology Medical Affairs team for the UK. He focuses on growing value and expertise for both pharmaceutical and medical device products, advising on medical and commercial strategy and driving regulatory excellence and innovation. Imran is passionate about medical education as well as the safe and sustainable adoption of AI technologies. He was a core team member for the global launch of an AI platform technology for medical imaging, was recently awarded a scholarship to complete the renowned UCL ‘Artificial Intelligence in Business’ executive course on AI implementation and strategic business models and sits on the British Institute of Radiology’s AI & Innovation specialist interest group.

Dr. Jim Ritchie is the Chief Clinical Information Officer and Deputy Director for Research and Innovation (Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence) at the Northern Care Alliance and an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Manchester. He continues to practice clinical medicine as nephrologist Salford Royal, one of the most digitally mature trusts in the NHS.

Jim supported delivery of the Salford Global Digital Exemplar programme, provides clinical leadership to the digital ‘Living Lab’, and has skills and knowledge in design thinking, system evaluation and developing collaborative partnerships with industry. In 2018, he graduated as part of Cohort 1 of the NHS Digital Academy

Over recent years, Jim has led the design and development of the NCA Digital Control Centre Programme; a transformational partnership that will embed advanced technologies and behaviours to optimise operational efficiency and improve care delivery. In addition, he has worked with colleagues to develop partnerships that can deliver new models of care for chronic disease into the NHS. This work includes development of the RevOCE programme which has delivered tools for population risk segmentation, targeted care and holistic multimorbidity clinics.

Natasha Sunderji is the Global Health Lead of Accenture’s social impact business, and also co-leads Accenture’s Health Equity Center of Excellence. She has 18+ years of experience advising companies, NGOs, donors, and multilaterals on social business model design, digital health, and cross-sectoral partnerships. She has designed patient centric solutions with leading health actors, developed 30+ inclusive businesses, and advised policy makers on the investments needed to create robust digital health ecosystems. She was named a World Summit AI Top 50 Innovator in 2020. Natasha holds a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering from University of Toronto, and a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School.

Elif is the Head of Computational Biology and Exploratory Analytics Products at Roche. She leads a global team of product managers that focus on building bioinformatics, omics and predictive analytics products that enable new hypothesis creation using state-of-the-art, interpretable and robust machine learning and advanced mathematical modeling approaches. 

Elif holds a BS and MS in Chemical Engineering from Bogazici University and a PhD in Structural Biology from Purdue University, where she used molecular dynamics simulations to study the Src kinase activation mechanism. She then joined the Chemical Engineering Department at Bogazici University as a faculty member. Her research spanned both experimental and computational studies on elucidating protein – compound interaction mechanisms and structure based drug design for proteins related to antimicrobial resistance and sphingolipid binding. She moved from >15 years in academia to industry when she joined Roche as the Head of Data Science in Go-to-market Data and Analytics in 2020. 

Valentina is a Partner in McKinsey’s Zurich office. Since joining in 2006, she has worked with multiple Healthcare and Life Sciences stakeholders, including Pharma companies, Health Tech start-ups, Hospitals and NGOs on a range of including how they can leverage advanced analytics to step-change their performance and operating model.

Valentina has been co-leading the QuantumBlack hub in Zurich since 2020, and it’s Digital and Analytics effort in Global Public Health. Valentina is passionate about the topic of diversity and leads Women Recruiting for the Swiss office as well as D&I for the Life Sciences Practice.

Peter Hackel leads the Data Products Team for Takeda’s Global Manufacturing Supply and Global Quality Organization. With his team he builds an environment where data analytics is possible and scalable across the organizational levels and pillars.

Giuseppe Marco Randazzo is a cheminformatic data scientist with more than 10+ experience in drug discovery. After completing his Ph.D. in chemical science at the laboratory of chemometrics and cheminformatic University of Perugia, in 2013 moved to the pharmaceutical sciences department of the University of Geneva for a post-doc position in the analytical chemistry group. He worked on machine-learning (ML)/cheminformatics tools for automatic compound annotation in metabolomics approaches. He also worked in a joint venture between the University of Geneva and a private industrial partner, Firmenich, delivering new active nature-identical compounds using ML and cheminformatics approaches. In 2017 he joined the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence in Lugano, developing new AI tools for drug discovery. In 2019 he joined F. Hoffmann-La Roche as a post-doc scientist to implement new machine-learning and AI methods for polypharmacology. In 2021 he joined Endogena Therapeutics in the role of Head of AI and Cheminformatics. He is an enthusiast and active open-source supporter, contributing to several scientific projects.

Dr Andrew Soltan is an NIHR-funded practicing Clinician at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, and Clinical Machine Learning Researcher at the University of Oxford. His research applies machine learning methods to Electronic Health Record data for rapid diagnosis and prognostication in acute and emergency care settings. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr Soltan led the CURIAL programme which developed and deployed an AI test to screen patients for infection in Emergency Departments, using clinical data routinely available within 1h. The CURIAL evidence base has achieved two publications in The Lancet Digital Health, showing a 26% reduction in time-to-result when piloted at the John Radcliffe Hospital and reduction in missed COVID-19 cases compared to Lateral Flow Testing alone.
Previously Dr Soltan has worked in industry as Medical Officer at Visulytix, which partnered with Orbis International to make its AI tool for detecting treatable eye disease accessible to doctors in low-resource countries. Since graduating with Distinction in Medicine from the University of Cambridge, Dr Soltan has received awards including an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship and a Translational Research award funded by the Wellcome Trust.

Sabina Magalini is a Surgeon of the Emergency and Trauma Surgery Department of the Policlinico Gemelli of Rome Italy (World’s Best Hospitals 2022, Newsweek) and an aggregate Professor of the Catholic University School of Medicine. 

Aside from clinical work she is interested in the organization of emergency medicine and surgery procedures in situations of disaster medicine. Together with her team she has participated in many EU projects dealing with CBRNe response (EDEN, ENCIRCLE, SMARTSTADIUM), decision support systems for first responders (FR) (PULSE, IMPRESS), development of new technologies for FR (NIGHTINGALE), security problems for communication during the pandemic (REACT2, COVINFORM), data sharing for research in medicine (TRUSTEE). 

The increasing importance of cybersecurity for hospital resilience has pushed her interests in the direction of identifying response and responsibilities of hospital personnel. She has coordinated the PANACEA project on people-centric hospital cyber resilience and will be part of the DYNAMO project on business continuity during cyberattacks.

Alex Zhavoronkov, PhD, is the founder and CEO of Insilico Medicine (insilico.com), a leader in next-generation artificial intelligence technologies for drug discovery and biomarker development. Under his leadership Insilico raised over $380 million in multiple rounds from expert investors, opened R&D centers in six countries or regions, and partnered with multiple pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic institutions, nominated 8 preclinical candidates, and entered human clinical trials with AI-discovered novel target and AI-designed novel molecule. Thomas Lindahl is the Chief Medical Officer for Unilabs Sweden, a country leader in medical diagnostics. He did his training as a radiologist, as well as a PhD in oncology, at the Karolinska University hospital in Stockholm. After leaving academic medicine Thomas has held many leadership roles within the medical diagnostics business, including the Unilabs TMC on call teleradiology service in Sydney, Australia. Stanisa Raspopovic is an Assistant Professor of Neuroengineering at the Department of Health Sciences and Technology of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, Switzerland. He worked as a PostDoc at EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland 2013-17. He received the MS in Biomedical Engineering with full marks from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 2007 and the Ph.D. cum laude in Biorobotics, from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa in 2011. His research interest is focused on the development of innovative medical devices for treatment of neurologically disabled persons. In particular, he develops mechatronic systems directly interfacing the environment with the residual nervous system. Stanisa achieved the groundbreaking translational research results in the field of sensory restoration in amputee patients. Driven by the desire to share these inventions with the wider population, in 2014 he co-founded SensArs Neuroprosthetics, a spin-off that develops neuroprosthetic systems, which won many international recognitions, and raised several millions of non-dilutive funding. He won several grants from EU and Switzerland in the role of a project leader and is presently the PI of the prestigious ERC starting grant FeelAgain.

Theophila oversees the design and development of E-Heza Data Solutions software and leads the scale up of E-Heza across health facilities and villages in Rwanda. She uses her exceptional leadership skills to bring together software designers, developers, implementation experts, and frontline health workers to successfully expand E-Heza. Since 2020, Despite the challenges associated with the covid-19 pandemic, her leadership led to a four-fold increase in the number of women and children served on E-Heza. She utilizes her expertise in stakeholder engagement to support the organization in external relations with new and existing partners, as well as the Rwandan government. She was chosen as a finalist for the Commonwealth Digital Health Awards 2020 and 2022. Clive’s passion for innovations had led him to participate in two hackathons organized by the Massachusetts Institute of technology and a good number of hackathons.

He worked on a digital health project that would monitor chronic patients living with hypertension and diabetes in real time, he received business and technical support from ZICTA but along the way, he resorted to putting the project on hold.

He volunteered as a student against COVID, he also volunteered at copper rose Zambia as a sexual and reproductive health rights advocate. Amos Ankrah MSC is Boston’s Solution Specialist focusing on Product Management within Boston Medical Systems (BMS). Amos has 25 plus years of experience working in IT, however, before commencing his career in IT he gained a degree in Biochemistry and Pharmacology at Kings College London.
